Clonakilty Distillery is keeping things smooth and refreshing with a cocktail that’s captures the spirit of the coast.

The Kilty Cooler,  a playful nod to the coastal town of Clonakilty, captures the character and personality of the distillery in a single glass.

Made with Clonakilty’s Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, the cocktail highlights the spirit’s signature vanilla and gentle wood spice. A pinch of sea salt enhances the aromatics and lifts the flavour, while maturation beside the Atlantic Ocean naturally imparts a subtle coastal salinity that sharpens its character. Fresh mint leaves add a vibrant lift, delivering a cooling freshness that echoes the crisp air of the Atlantic Ocean.

Soda water brings a crisp, refreshing lift, while a touch of syrup rounds the edges and keeps the profile bright and balanced. Topped with a brown sugar rim for a polished finish. The Kilty Cooler is a light, refreshing cocktail that lets the whiskey shine.

The Kilty Cooler

Ingredients

• 35ml Clonakilty Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

• 10ml simple syrup

• Pinch of sea salt

• 150ml soda water

• Ice

• Brown sugar (to coat the glass rim)

• Fresh orange slice and dried orange wheel

• Mint leaves for garnish

Method

1. Add the whiskey, simple syrup and sea salt to a shaker, and shake well.

2. Run an orange slice around the rim of your glass, then lightly dip into brown sugar to coat.

3. Fill the glass with ice and fresh mint leaves.

4. Pour the shaken mixture into your prepared glass.

5. Top with soda water and stir gently.

6. Garnish with a dried orange wheel and serve.
